EE is one of the UK’s biggest communications providers, offering both home broadband and mobile packages, as well as TV deals. Formed in 2010 by the merger of Orange and T-Mobile and now owned by BT, it’s one of the ‘big four’ mobile network operators, using its parent firm’s superfast home broadband network.
This means it can offer a great range of home broadband, Wi-Fi and mobile broadband solutions, backed up by both its own 4G mobile network and the UK’s largest superfast broadband network. It offers fibre broadband with speeds of up to 67Mbps, or even up to 900Mbps in certain locations.
You can also add home phone deals and some top TV and sports channels thanks to EE’s Apple TV plans. With compatible devices, you can enjoy stunning 4K-quality content, including the best sports action through BT Sport. It’s worth noting that to get these deals, you’ll have to be signed up to a pay monthly EE mobile deal.
New customers with no previous Openrach connection will require EE to send an engineer to install the services and get everything working. You can arrange this when you place your order.
However, homes that have had Openreach lines installed previously will be able to self install the service by simply connecting the equipmet to a power source and a connection socket.
Most EE broadband packages will require an installation fee and/or Activation fee which is typically £25 each.
If you’re able to use the Self Install option, you’ll receive all the equipment you need via courier , with ruoter usually being sent out within seven working days for the UK mainland, or within 10 working days if you live in Northern Ireland.
For engineer visits, you’ll be able to choose your date when you place the order, usually within around 14 days. Once at your home, it should take between 30 minutes and two hours to get things up and running.
If you’re using the Self Install service, your EE router should be very easy to get up and running, as you’ll just need to plug in a few cables. You can find specific steps for each model of router on the EE website.
To see if EE broadband is available to your home and at what speed would it come, you can use Postcode Checker.
If you’re already a customer of EE and want to upgrade your services, the company has lots of offers and deals available. You can see what’s on offer at the moment by logging into your account on the EE website.
